Luís Figo Foundation Sponsors 3 Children in Mozambique

On the first day of June, the LFF supported the "Um Pequeno Gesto Uma Grande Ajuda" project, which sponsors 3 children in Mozambique.

The partnership between the LFF and Um Pequeno Gesto stems from the interlacement between both their missions, since both of them work towards promoting the improvement of quality of life amongst children and young people in need.
With the support given by the LFF to those children, Gércio and Anselmo, aged 9 (twins) and Helena Cossa, aged 16, from the Nhancutse Program in the Village of Bungane in Mozambique, they will have access to what should be considered "basic" for a life worth living, which means food, education, clothing and minimal health and hygiene conditions.

The Cossa family consists of 3 brothers, children of an unknown father and whose mother died on March of 2010, possibly from HIV. The only family they have is an aunt who lives near them. These children are helped by their aunt and not one of them went to school, but once sponsored by the sponsorships da UPG project, the twins can go to school. These children have been living from the help of strangers. Helena, now 16 years old, helps aunt Beatriz (mother's sister) at her farm, and her aunt prepares food at home and tries to share some of it with the kids, who live alone in a hut.

The Um Pequeno Gesto has partnerships with local authorities who pick up and deliver their supplies, and make sure they deliver regular proof that all the help is being directed to the goal that was presented and supported by their "Godparents".
