The Luís Figo Foundation takes 1000 children to Zoomarine

World Children's Day celebrated by the LFF across the nation.

The LFF and Zoomarine joined forces today, to provide an afternoon of fun and fantasy to about 1000 children from Algarve.

Along with Luís Figo, children were given the chance to enjoy a visit to Zoomarine, where they watched the dolphins and also the tropical birds. Other than these moments, the LFF and their little guests had the chance to meet and welcome Samy, a dolphin that is the new mascot at Zoomarine, who "walked its first steps" on this special day.

«We are very happy that we were able to do this at the South of Portugal, something we've been wanting to do for a long time» said Luís Figo. «This is very important to us, because it allows us to provide children with wonderful moments of joy and fun, and is the main goal of our Foundation, which wishes to contribute for their well-being» he added.

In this initiative, we were able to count on children from the Red Cross of Algarve, Refúgio Aboim Ascenção, Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Albufeira, Casa dos Rapazes de Faro, the "Os Faleirinhos" daycare center from Castro Verde, Casa do Povo from São Bartolomeu from Messinhes, Vale Silva Community and Social Center, among many others, who were also granted the opportunity to snack with Luís Figo, in a moment that was sponsored by Cuétara, Luso waters and Joi juices.

Much like previous years, World Children's Day is also celebrated by the Luís Figo Foundation, through a National Gift Give Away Campaign for children and young people who are in the pediatric services of hospitals from across the country, schools and social solidarity institutions.

This year, around 3000 gifts were given out, from toys, football balls, to books, to institutions like The Portuguese Red Cross, Acreditar, Ajuda de Berço, the Hospitals of Viana do Castelo, Castelo Branco, Garcia de Orta, Évora, Portimão, and many others.
