Allstars 2011 - Áustria/Viena

Vienna, March 15, 2011 - The LFF, in a partnership with the historical European football club FB Austria, presented, in a press conference, the 2011 edition of the All Stars charity game.

In this year's edition, the Luís Figo Foundation joins the celebrations of FK Austria's 100th birthday, for this initiative that supports, each and every year, social projects with children and young people in need.

Current and legendary stars from this team and from world football in general will meet on the 17 of June at the Generali Arena stadium, in Vienna. The purpose of this friendly solidarity match was the raise funds that will go to social intervention projects for children and young people in need, created by the Luís Figo Foundation.

«Because football is such a phenomenon worldwide, these events intend to direct that strength in the service of humanitarian causes», says Luís Figo. «It was an honor to be able to accept the invitation that was sent to us by this historical European team», he added.

Since its first edition in 2003, the AllStars matches have allowed the LFF to support several projects like the construction of the Ronald McDonald House in Portugal, the Casa das Cores from the Movimento ao Serviço da Vida and also the Centro de Acolhimento Temporário for child refugees, from the Portuguese Council for Refugees. UNICEF Portugal and the Laureus Sports For Good Foundation were also sponsored by these initiatives.
