2008 Champions Evening in Bucharest, Romania

The LFF joined the Gica Popescu Foundation for the "Champions Evening" match in Bucharest, Romania, on the 25 of May. The objective of this match was to raise funds and split them amongst both foundations, whose job is to help children in need.

Popescu's team was made entirely of stars from Romanian football, while the LFF's team had players from all over the world. On a night where the true winners were children, the end result was 5 to 3 for the LFF, where Raúl, Figo's former teammate from Real Madrid, scored twice.

At the end of the match, Figo thanked all the players for their willingness to be there, and the fact that they joined such a special event in an attempt to help those in need. "It was an unforgettable day, and children will certainly be thankful for the smiles we gave them today", said Luís Figo, President of the LFF.
