AllStars 2010 - Benguela

The 2010 edition of the AllStars game will take place on the 15 of May in Benguela, Angola. This year, the LUÍS FIGO FOUNDATION joined the ASSOCIAÇÃO KADENGUE HABILIDOSO, led by the former international football player, Akwa, for an event that supports social projects amongst children and young people in need on a yearly basis.

This year, funds went to the Swatch / Casa dos Refugiados project, whose goal is to build the first Temporary Shelter Center for refugee children in Portugal, along with the Portuguese Council for Refugees, and also the creation of an SOS Village in Benguela.

"This innovative project to implement a Foster Center for Refugee Children in Portugal is a step forward in protecting those who are most vulnerable, like innocent children who are the victims of armed conflicts, natural catastrophes or persecutions. In a world that is more and more intercultural, this Home will give this children a safe environment, thrusting their abilities, as well as promoting values of responsibility and tolerance towards other", said Maria Teresa Tito de Morais Mendes. "The support provided by the LFF, by bringing forth the initiative of this year's AllStars match, will be fundamental to help making this project come true" he adds.

The AllStars match has been organized by the LFF since 2003, and its purpose is to raise funds that support the sponsorship given by the Foundation in all sorts of initiatives in the fields of Health, Sports, Social Action and Education. Good examples of this is the support given to Entrajuda, Operação Nariz Vermelho or the national campaigns for the delivery of toys over Christmas and Children's Day.
